In the pursuit of providing comprehensive assistance to Local Government Units in Central Visayas, the Environmental Management Bureau – Region 7 has turned over 26 equipment worth a million each that will aid the LGUs to manage their wastes well.
These equipment are composed of bio shredders, rotary composters, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.
A turn-over ceremony was done on July 20, 2022 at the Provincial Capitol of Bohol which was attended by Governor Erico Aristotle C. Augmentado, former cabinet secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr, EMB Regional Director Maribel B. Munsayac, DENR ARD Charlie Fabre, and officials from the 26 LGU beneficiaries.
“To comprehensively implement RA 9003 has been an uphill battle not just from the national government agency but most especially from the LGUs. However, the EMB has strengthened our partnerships to all LGUs to achieve the primary objective of the aforementioned law. We will continue to provide assistance.” RD Maribel Munsayac said in her speech.
Further, the EMB-7 vows to continue to educate the public as well to manage solid wastes starting from own homes.
