The DENR – Environmental Management Bureau 7 conducted a two-day activity providing assistance to stakeholders in Bantayan Group of Islands in the Province of Cebu for their environmental compliances on May 18-19, 2022.
The activity was organized by EMB-7’s Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Division (EMED) led by EMED Chief, Engr. Ranzel A. Dioko.
On the first day, different representatives of business establishments attended the Bantayan Island Stakeholders’ Forum conducted at Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort in Brgy. Tamiao, Bantayan, Cebu.
All environmental laws related to environmental management as mandated by the EMB as well as their updates was discussed during the forum.
After the discussions, a break-out session for different types of business industries was also done to provide tailored support to the stakeholders on the implementation of these laws.
All representatives were then asked to fill out a form to gather information and data about their establishment, hence profiling the pollution generation in the area.
On the second day, EMB-7 technical personnel conducted simultaneous onsite inspections to monitor the compliances of the establishments within the area.
